December 5 – 7, 2019
Scotiabank Convention Centre, Niagara Falls, CANADA
Wrestling Canada Lutte is excited to be bringing their Canadian Wrestling Trials to the Niagara Region, from December 5 – 7, 2019.
Jointly hosted by the 2021 Canada Summer Games Host Society and the Brock Wrestling Club, the Trials will serve as an opportunity for the nation’s best wrestlers to compete for a spot on the National Team and a chance to represent their country at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
The significance of these Trials to the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics is a key part of this event, aligning with the Niagara 2021 Canada Summer Games, and the parallels they draw with the Olympic Games as one of the world’s largest multi-sport events.
Niagara has produced several wrestlers that have gone on to represent Canada internationally over the years. These include three-time Olympic medalist Tonya Verbeek and World Bronze medallists Michelle Fazzari and Diana Weicker, the latter of whom will be competing at the Trials.
